Family Hope Services
Transforming west metro youth - one life at a time.

Family Hope Services (FHS) is a Christian-based, non-profit organization serving hurting youth, parents and their families during difficult times. Our purpose is "to give hope to hurting youth and their families leading to life transformation".

Who We Are

Scars cover her arm; she says she cuts herself to numb the pain she feels inside. Anger and violence control his life; one more outburst and he'll be kicked out of school. Anorexia plagues her health; her parents fear for her life. These teens are only three of the 890 "at-risk" youth Family Hope Services will help this year.

What does it take to help youth teetering on the edge of destruction? Nothing short of transformation, which Family Hope Services (FHS) believes comes through long-term positive relationships. Twenty years' worth of passionate testimonies from alumni proves them to be right.

FHS' TreeHouse program has inspired youth and their families to live
as significant contributors in a changing world. Currently 19 TreeHouse staff and 20 volunteers serve in four TreeHouse locations: Minnetonka, Brooklyn Park, New Hope, and Chaska. .

What We Do

Collaborate. FHS focuses on reaching hurting youth and their families, receiving referrals from school administrators, social workers, police officials, crisis agencies and churches. They regularly deal with youth that are endangering their futures through chemical abuse, crime, rebellion, academic neglect and abusive behavior.

Transform.
The TreeHouse program is a Christian outreach that offers year-round programs including one-to-one mentoring, activities, support groups, service projects and retreats. Youth, ages 11 to 18, learn how to make healthy choices and maintain balance in their social, mental, spiritual, physical and emotional lives.

TreeHouse's goal is to build 19 core assets into the lives of youth, as defined by research conducted by Search Institute.
Over time, FHS has learned that behind every hurting teen is a hurting parent or parents. TreeHouse strengthens vulnerable families by providing education and support programs to approximately 120 parents each year.

Expand.
Plans are underway for a TreeHouse in the Bloomington/Richfield Area. In addition to adding more TreeHouse locations, Family Hope seeks to create partnerships with other like-minded ministries, with the goal of mentoring them in the TreeHouse model. A one-year partnership has just been completed with a Hmong outreach in St. Paul.

What You Can Do
