We invite marketplace
servants with business expertise to partner
with ministries for at least one year as
MINISTRY SERVANTS. They serve as mentors
and help to assess a ministry's capacity
and implement capacity-building initiatives.
The title MINISTRY SERVANT reinforces the
attitude of service that we consider key
to a successful relationship and clarifies
the fact that the ministry will retain primary
decision making authority.
The Partnertship Relationship
Phase One: ASSESSMENT
The ministry leader and MINISTRY
SERVANT will conduct a joint evaluation
of the ministry to identify needs and priorities.
Leaders will then develop a one-year strategic
plan to increase the ministry's organizational
capacity. In some cases, this plan will
be developed in cooperation with the ministry's
board chairperson.
Phase Two: MENTORING
Ministry leaders and staff
will receive training and operational accountability,
setting achievable goals and defining clear
outcomes. MINISTRY SERVANTS will expand
their understanding of critical community
concerns, engage diverse cultures, and grow
in their compassion for those in need.
Phase Three: IMPLEMENTATION
This relationship is expected
to produce pools of resources and technical
assistance. These will include help from
the network of professional volunteers of
both the MINISTRY SERVANT and Kingdom Oil
as well as training opportunities offered
by a variety of capacity building organizations.
No financial resources will
be exchanged between the business partner
and ministry leader. However, in some instances
Kingdom Oil will provide seed money to launch
capacity-building projects.
